The Bulgarian authorities require proof of your education level as part of the driver's license process. Your original diploma/certificate needs to be officially authenticated by Bulgarian authorities.

The Process
What Happens:
1. You submit your original educational certificate
2. They give you a receipt/confirmation paper
3. You return after about one month to collect the certified version
Important: Don't lose that lil paper slip or you're screwed - you'll need it to pick up your certified documents.
What to Bring
- Your original, apostilled, and officially translated educational certificate/diploma
- Your Bulgarian ID (Лична карта)
Timing Advice
Start Early: Since this process takes about a month, begin the certification process as soon as you decide to get your license. You can do this in parallel with your driving school registration and theory preparation.
